During this time it is very important to monitor, not only your health but the health of your personal assistants as well. To help protect yourself to the best of your ability Burd Home Health would like you to begin to screen your personal assistants for COVID-19 symptoms before each shift. Here are the following steps you should take and tools you should use if you are able.
1. Ask your personal assistant how they are feeling.
a) Do they have a fever?
b) Do they have a cough?
c) Are they experiencing shortness of breath?
2. If you have an external thermometer it would be a good idea to check the temperature of each personal assistant before their shift. If they have a fever above 100.4 you should ask them to go home and contact their healthcare provider.
3. Ask your personal assistant if they have traveled abroad in recent weeks.
4. If you are unsure about symptoms you can have your personal assistant follow the Corona Virus Symptom Checker on the CDC website here https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/index.html
If your personal assistant is forced to go home have them contact their relationship manager to see what their options are.
