Empowering Independence Through Agency with Choice
Arizona’s Agency with Choice program allows eligible individuals to receive care at home from a trusted caregiver, often a family member or friend, while receiving additional support through an approved agency like BURD Home Health. Funded by Arizona Medicaid (AHCCCS), the caregiver is paid for their time, with no cost to the person receiving care.

It supports people who need help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as household activities such as cooking and cleaning.
Caregivers in Arizona are paid by the state through Medicaid. This means the person who receives care does not pay the caregiver. The current Arizona caregiver pay at BURD Home Health is up to $19.00 per hour. All caregivers must be eligible to work in the United States.
Yes. Caregivers in Arizona are required to have a valid First Aid and CPR certification.
Caregivers must be at least 18 years old to qualify for the program.
