Missouri’s Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program allows eligible individuals to receive care at home from a trusted caregiver, often a family member or friend. Funded by Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet), the caregiver is paid for their time, with no cost to the person receiving care.

Consumer Directed Services (CDS) is a Missouri Medicaid program administered through MO HealthNet. It provides personal care services to people who need hands-on help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as help with everyday activities such as cooking and cleaning.
Caregivers in Missouri are paid by the state through Medicaid. This means the person who receives care does not pay the caregiver. The current Missouri CDS caregiver pay at BURD Home Health is up to $15.00 per hour. All caregivers must be eligible to work in the United States.
No. The Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program does not require caregivers have any special certifications. BURD Home Health provides training on required processes and procedures.
No. Medicare alone does not meet the state’s requirements for this program. You must have Medicaid and meet other state rules to qualify. If you have questions about your coverage, our team can help you review your options.
