Personal Care Services (PCS) is a Nevada Medicaid program that provides in-home support to individuals who need assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, along with help around the home like meal preparation and light housekeeping.
Caregivers in Nevada are paid by the state through Medicaid. This means the person who receives care does not pay the caregiver. The current Nevada PCS caregiver pay at BURD Home Health is up to $17.25 per hour. All caregivers must be eligible to work in the United States.
Yes, there is a mandated 16-hour paid virtual training course and an additional 8 hours of continuing education annually + CPR Certification. BURD Home Health also conducts background checks.
Caregivers must be at least 18 years old to qualify for the program.
No. Medicare alone does not meet the state’s requirements for this program. You must have Medicaid and meet other state rules to qualify. If you have questions about your coverage, our team can help you review your options.
Medicare is a federal program for people who are 65 or older or have certain disabilities. Medicaid is for people with low incomes and is run by both the state and federal government, so rules can vary by state.
